Fractales, más allá de 1D, 2d o 3D

Abstract

En este artículo se describirá una novedosa geometría que ha sorprendido tanto a la comunidad científica por su utilidad en la descripción de diversos objetos y sistemas como también al público general, cautivado por la estética de sus formas infinitas. Se presentará una breve revisión histórica de cómo ha surgido la geometría fractal, complementando la geometría tradicional. Luego, se expondrá algunos aspectos de las dimensiones, abarcando la dimensión topológica y la dimensión fractal. A continuación se describirán las características de los objetos fractales y se dará una definición de fractal. Finalmente se mostrarán algunas de las muchas aplicaciones de la geometría fractal en las ciencias

This article describes a novel geometry that has surprised so much the scientific community by its utility in the description of several objects and systems, like also to the general public, captivated by the beauty of its infinite forms. A brief historical revision of how will appear geometry has raised fractal, complementing traditional geometry. Soon, there will be exposed some aspects of the dimensions, including the topologic dimension and the fractal dimension. Next, fractals will be described to the characteristics of the objects and a fractal definition will occur. Finally there will be shone some applications of geometry fractal in sciences.
