Unidad de atención para personas con discapacidad

Abstract

Se presentan los antecedentes y las acciones realizadas para la implementación de la Unidad de Atención para Personas con Discapacidad de la Dirección General de Orientación y Servicios Educativos (DGOSE) de la UNAM. La DGOSE tiene como misión coadyuvar a la formación integral de los alumnos, propiciando su desarrollo personal, académico y profesional durante su tránsito por la Universidad, a través de la orientación y la prestación de diversos servicios educativos, acciones entre las que, por supuesto, están incluidas las personas con discapacidad.

We describe herein the background and the actions undertaken for implementing the Unit for the Care of People with disabilities at the General Direction of Orientation and Educational Services, (DGOSE for its acronym in Spanish) at the UNAM. DGOSE has as its mission to contribute to the wide-ranging education of the students, promoting their development in the personal, academic and professional grounds, during their years at the University. This goal is accomplished through several strategies for advising and support, designed on the basis of the nature of their educational challenges. These DGOSE programs are also addressed to students with disabilities.
