Leptospirosis in a sabueso fino Colombiano in the municipality of florencia caquetá - Clinical aspects

It is described a case study of a Colombian male canine hound, approximately eight years of age, which presented inappetence and abdominal pain; as complementary tests, a hemogram was performed, obtaining normochromic non-regenerative normochromic anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, neutropenia and inflammatory process; BUN Creatinine, ALT, AST, GGT, FA, uroanalysis and coprology were followed. Based on the results, chronic renal failure, liver alterations and the presence of Ancylostoma sp was diagnosed. Therefore, a MAT test was requested for the diagnosis of Leptospira sp and the patient died after taking the sample; histopathologically, lesions compatible with Leptospira sp were found and serologically confirmed the presence of L. icterohaemorrhagiae and L. grippotiphosa.
