<p>El presente trabajo tiene la finalidad de estudiar el sector minero como la principal fuente de desarrollo para los habitantes del municipio de San Pablo de Borbur, entendiendo el desarrollo por la visión alternativa de Amartya Sen donde depende de las libertades que goza cada individuo y así mismo el enfoque de capacidades expuestas por Martha Nussbaum. Así mismo se utilizan los datos suministrados por el departamento de estadísticas para poder hacer una comparación entre el crecimiento y desarrollo de esta actividad económica y la perspectiva de los habitantes, suministrada por encuestas y entrevistas. Adicional se extraerán diferentes estudios realizados hacia el municipio y el sector minero en Colombia para poder observar el impacto que esta actividad ha generado en diferentes comunidades con sus beneficios y oportunidades de mejora.</p>The present work has the purpose of studying the mining sector as the main source of development for the inhabitants of the municipality of San Pablo de Borbur, understanding the development of the alternative vision of Amartya.
