Resumen
Based on the theory model of Glaser and Strauss (1967), to construct a theory about the appropriation of Zulian cultural heritage, specifically the Zulian bagpipe. After presenting the epistemological foundations and elements that make up the Glaser and Strauss model, which allows to approach the social reality from a qualitative approach, the experience of its application is exposed, for which 15 interviews were carried out to students of the School of Librarianship and Archivology of the University of Zulia, after the guided research on the gaita zuliana. This model is considered of great help for the approach of social environments, as long as the researcher has developed abilities to be sensitive to what the data throw and to focus on them, for that is where the theory must emerge.
