Resumen
Bone repair measures involving surgeries and tissue replacements are increasingly present today, in addition to the progressive advancement of the market for prostheses, implants and technologies that invest in the health area. From 2009 to 2011, approximately 225 million patients had a medical diagnosis related to orthopedics, costing about 215 billion dollars if hip and knee replacement are included (CHEN, 2019). In this context, numerous researches are currently carried out with the aim of developing a more advantageous option for cases of surgeries involving bone tissue. Based on Materials Engineering, it is possible to go deeper into bioactive and biocompatible materials, including polymers and composites, which are highly qualified candidates for a possible replacement of the referred tissue. Through a literature review, it was possible to find numerous materials and the most promising techniques and to delve into them. In this work, we will study the feasibility of scaffolds, obtained by the FFF process (Fused Filament Fabrication), of a PLA/PCL (polylactic acid/polycaprolactone) blend with HA (hydroxyapatite) load to be used in order to replace bone tissue.
