Resumen
The main objective of this thesis is to verify the feasibility of implementing an air-water-soil geothermal air conditioning system that does not require a heat pump and, consequently, does not have a change in phase of the fluids involved. The choice for a geothermal heat exchange system is due to the fact that the soil maintains an almost constant temperature during the year at certain depths. The analytical approach was used. A bibliographic review of the different subjects was carried out, such as the concept of thermal comfort, soil characteristics and their peculiarities regarding heat exchanges and heat exchangers and their operation. As a basis for the study, a practical experiment already carried out at UFSM was used, in which a thermal load was applied to a heat exchanger buried in a trench. From the data obtained it was possible to make a simulation, like if the applied load was a residential air conditioning system. From there, efficiencies of those thermal exchangers were calculated which, although much higher than conventional heat pump systems, require a large exchange surface, which results in a long length of buried piping or a low system capacity.
