Water is one of the essential elements that make up the planet with importance for the survival of man, plants and animals, it is present in several human activities, in power generation and in your leisure, you can still be associated the striking socio-economic issues in the daily lives of people. Nowadays with a view to environmental sustainability where they discuss alternatives for the various types of water use, rainwater utilization surge as a renewable source that will serve to help solve some problems, because we need new methods of water capture that mitigate waste and provide an increase in the supply of drinking water consumption. Demand for practices that improve storage for water use, such as conservation programs that reduce the shortage of water and urban drainage, it is a problem that has been causing great demands in cities due to expanding urbanization and soil sealing. è essential a population behavior change by promoting incentives knowledge ranging from environmental education to the regulatory laws that favor the rational use of water. The objective of this study is to address the rainfall index profitable offer from the University of Santa Maria (UFSM), considering the rainfall of Santa Maria having so rainwater application feasibility for non-potable consumption (UFSM). We carried out the study using as material the rainfall data in the region and with the help of rainfall with information obtained from the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). They used monthly rainfall data of the 1st period January to December 31 of the year 2014. In order to collect data on the tiled area of the university has been using AutoCAD program (2009) via master plan UFSM. For the preparation of this stage, it was chosen the building for 16 gathering area where rainfall data and identified the runoff coefficient for the possible identification of procurable volume in buildings.
