Art Déco na Avenida Rio Branco – Santa Maria: interação de quatro prédios com a contemporaneidade

Abstract

The present study has as objectives to identify the manifestation to Art Déco in architecture of Rio Branco Avenue, Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. First it has done a study about historic events importants of period in the question – in this case, end of twentys and start of fortys years – and its contributions to development of a new architecture binded to idea of Art Déco, its characteristics and examples. Next it has done a study about the contemporany world showing its characteristics and examples in urban context. In the end, it does analised four examples to Art Déco of Rio Branco Avenue and boarded the interation this examples to contemporany ages.
