Análise dos aspectos econômicos, sociais e ambientais da coleta de resíduos conteinerizada

Abstract

The significant increase of the consumerism in the last decades has been generating serious consequences to the environment. Besides the extraction of the natural resources at high levels, it also resulted in a great amount of garbage, whose management demands practices that are capable to minimize the impacts to the environment. In Santa Maria, in the year of 2008, the containerized system of collection of residues was implanted, aiming an effective management of the great amount produced by the central area of the city. In that context the work is introduced, that has as focus to identify if the collection of residues through containers propitiates environmental, social and economic advantages in comparison to the conventional collection. To reach the objective of the study, data and costs spreadsheet obtained through the company Revita Engenharia S.A., provider of the services of collection of residues in Santa Maria were analyzed. Incurred expenses in the containerized collection and in the conventional collection were mapped, as well the social and environment benefits were identified. For the economic analysis, the costs with labor, uniforms, fuels, driving, lubrication and wash, capital costs, tributes, and others were raised, with the costs per ton of R$ 154,72 for the conventional collection and R$ 184,28 for the containerized collection.
