This course conclusion paper from the Federal University of Santa Maria aims to discuss the socio-educational measures recommended by the Statute of the Child and the Adolescent (ECA) and the National System of Socio-Educational Care, in particular as socio-educational measures in an open environment, from the perspective of the resocialization of adolescents who committed offenses, as well as bring the contribution of the social worker to the realization of this right, thus promoting the social inclusion of these adolescents. The methodology used to obtain the data started from a qualitative approach, with bibliographic and documentary research. The interest in the subject came from experiences obtained through the compulsory internship process at the Center for the Defense of the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CEDEDICA), a non-governmental institution, founded in 2005 in Santa Maria-RS, which aims to implement the socio-educational measures of assisted freedom and community service with adolescents in conflict with the law. The trajectory of child and adolescent protection legislation in Brazil will be approached, from colonization to the establishment of the ECA, as well as a discussion about the MSE, bringing principles and guidelines recommended in the ECA and SINASE, as well as, the way the socio-educational measures are implemented for the effective resocialization of adolescents in conflict with the law, and finally the intervention project, product of the obligatory curricular internship. By analyzing the forms of attention directed to children and adolescents throughout history, we identified a process of criminalization of poverty, childhood was related to the social condition in which the child was. From the establishment of the Federal Constitution and, consequently, the Statute of Children and Adolescents, this portion of the population is now recognized as a subject of rights and in a peculiar condition of development. In the field of socio-educational measures, ECA and SINASE make explicit the directives that guide the implementation of socio-educational measures, ensuring their applicability in a pedagogical manner, and guided by the Doctrine of Integral Protection, regarding education, the school needs to be prepared and open to receive these adolescents, because it is necessary to work in a network so that the socio-educational measures are really effective in the lives of these subjects.
