Resumen
The Six Sigma method is a management strategy that allows the improvement of
processes that, using statistical measurements and analysis, allows leverage both
the quality of processes and the profitability of the company. The present work seeks
to analyze the sigma level of micro enterprise located in the central region of Santa
Maria-RS using the Six Sigma methodology. The initial motivation was to introduce
the business owners to the six sigma methodology and raise the question: what
would be the current process level of the business and if the finished parts are
meeting customer-specified specifications? Thus, the objective is to clarify to owners
the level of product compliance, the process sigma level and, if necessary, the
proposed improvements. In this way, the project followed the first three steps of
DMAIC (define, measure, analyze) in order to find out the company's sigma level and
whether products are meeting customer specifications, and thereby suggest
improvements to the head of production. . The steps to implement and control aside
were not used due to the fact that the implementation and control are not the focus of
the work and also because of the time and the need for more resources to be
properly applied. The work used tools used in the six sigma methodology and
statistical analysis, such as the SIPOC flowchart (supplier, inputs, process, outputs,
customer), data repeatability and reproducibility analysis, measurement amplitude,
normality graphs of the collected data and, sigma level of the process, all analyzed
with the aid of Minitab statistical software. As a result, the company's 0.83 sigma
level and 13 non-conforming parts were discovered, which would cause major
disruption to both the company and the customer, but already achieving positive
results as non-standard parts could be reworked. before being sent to the client, and
also considering suggestions for possible process improvements so that future errors
can be avoided. Thus, with the results it was perceived by the owners that only by
the first three stages of DMAIC used in the six sigma methodology is it possible to
obtain great results for the company.
