dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the development of a Case Study as a research method in the school environment in Geography classes for the first year of high school. The classes addressed Mind Maps, Concept Maps, online research tool and Biomes of the World as theme of the discipline. The activities of creating maps or texts and answering questionnaires were the means to obtain quantitative and qualitative data necessary to understand the learning process and to assess which map would allow students to learn better. Among the main results obtained, in the context in which this study was developed, are the need for more government investments to for distance learning to produce efficient learning, support those who do not have a computer and access to the Internet, creating mean that train teachers to run classes and that students so that they might carry out activities these classes when taught only at a distance.
