dc.description.abstract | This work brings as a discussion the adaptation of the work The Shining, written by Stephen King and adapted by Stanley Kubrick. The focus of this research is to understand how this adaptation is made and what are the losses and gains at the moment of transition from the history of a literary work to a cinematographic work. For this, it was necessary to talk about narrative and its structure - plot, narrator, characters and conflict - about authorship and narrate the two versions of history choosing the main points with elements of the narrative. In addition, there is a chapter dealing with transfictionality and transmedia narrative where it is possible to understand the universe in which the work is inserted. The authors who served as a basis for this work were Herman (2009), Barthes (2009), Campos (2007), Rey (1989), Comparato (1995), Howard and Mabley (1999), Pinheiro (2012), Jenkins (2009) and Ryan (2013). The methodology used was the bibliographical research and a comparative analysis followed by a description of the works and the creation of a timeline with the necessary information for the final notes. It was realized that many elements of the original work, which are important, were left aside by the director and other elements that are not properly from history, were included. This research demonstrates that it is possible to adapt a story keeping the essence of it and still insert the director's personality in it. | |
