The study aims to understand the mechanisms for improvement of education, ie teaching and
learning, as manifested in processes of institutional evaluation of public schools in order to situate the
school institution as a place of commitment, both by learning about the principles democratizing and
transforming reality. We depart from the principle that the assessment is the process of collective
construction by which we discuss directions, rhythms and adjustments are being made and the
intervention in the form of participative management and democratic and that this process depends on
the theoretical bases, this is the conception of education that is practiced. Specifically the topic under
discussion proposes an analysis of the challenges the manager to promote the participation of
segments of the school community. The theoretical discussion carried out, guided by de outhors argue
that this practice contributes to the deepening of the aplicant’s empirical studies conducted through a
questionnaire answered by techers, administrators, parents and students fron State College Dr.
Liberato Salzano Vieira da Cunha, the city of Liberato Salzano, RS. The qualitative approach allows to
visualize the processes of school organization and the need for qualified managers who are able to
articulate spaces conducive to participatory activities at the school, delineating the characteristics
necessary for managers of public school and institutional assessment, so that all actors are included in
school as active participants in constructing their knowledge. Sharing management with the
community, the school will become increasingly compromised in their actions and seek appropriate
solutions to the dilemmas and confrontations that arise in relations between subjects, the
implementation of their proposal and their pedagogical.
