This study presents the proposal of a practical activity using GeoGebra software, as a reinforcement in the teaching of quadratic functions. This activity, in the form of a workshop, was developed with a group composed of twenty-six students of the first-year of the Technical Course in Food at the Federal Institute Farroupilha - Campus Santo Augusto, a secondary-level course. This work aimed to develop a methodology based on practice, with the students getting to know, creating and using some GeoGebra applets, in order to offer these students a tool that can help them in the construction of knowledge involving the study of quadratic functions. For the development of this proposal, the titular professor of mathematics gave us the opportunity to use three of his classes. The interaction of the students with the resource was quite positive, since good results were obtained during the development of the workshop. Thus, it is suggested that the teacher, should increasingly enjoy technological resources in their pedagogical practice, since these tools can effectively facilitate the learning process, making the teaching of mathematics more meaningful and effective, once the available technologies can act as a facilitating support in the students’ knowledge-building process.
