dc.description.abstractDue to the increase in demand for electric vehicles combined with the development of photo voltaic generation, a DC-DC converter is proposed, converting energy from a stationary battery bank, which is powered by solar generation, to charge an electric vehicle. The proposed conver ter is a two-switch Forward, working on the IPOS configuration. Considering that, an analysis of the operation of the converter Forward with two switches is performed, demonstrating its operating modes, main waveforms and design of its components. In addition, this work propo ses a method of optimization for the converter modules, by analyzing the number of modules and its components. It performs a cost analysis and gets an optimal point between efficiency, cost, and power density. Experimental results are obtained through the usage of a prototype containing a single module. This single module was assembled in a test bench and achieved an efficiency of 91.6%.
