Resumen
Starting from the understanding of the investigative journalism’s social role, allying its notion as an institution, public interest and power, we stablished as the main goal of this work the analysis and understanding of the apuration process to the “Máfia das Próteses” report a misappropriation money’s scheme denounced by the news reporter Giovani Grizotti of Rede Globo. We seek with the content analysis and the depth interview, the methodological aport necessary for us to be able to answer the question: How the news reporter Giovani Grizotti justifies the production processes of the report “Máfia das Próteses”, considering the investigative journalism’s characteristics and the ethical and deontological fundamentals of the profession? With our analysis we realized that the report tends to the spectacular, when utilizes too much hidden camera, reporter’s uncover and when exposes him, putting his integrity in risk. However, the material also accomplishes the social role of journalism by presenting to the society a fraud scheme that prejudices directly the citizen that rely on health procedures. We believe that, when we ally theory and practice, we are able to provoke a discussion about the limits of the news’s report performance, in ethical terms and safety terms. The discussion makes itself needed in the moment that the journalism starts to accomplish and inspect the tasks of the other three powers – Executive, Legislative and Judiciary.
