Resumen
Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) is a new concept which aims to use virtualization
techniques to replace network functions deployed in specialized hardware. NFV seeks to
reduce Capital and Operational Expenditure (CAPEX and OPEX) and the complexity for the
deployment and management of functions in large computer networks. However, there is
not a widely accepted platform for the execution of these network functions that meets the
required criteria defined in NFV specification. Thus, the objective of this work is to propose
a plataform for executing and managing virtualized network functions. Initially, a survey was
made to find the necessary requirements for the implementation of the platform, followed
by choosing tools that effectively met these requirements. In the development of the work,
the tools were integrated based on the generic architecture of a NFV platform. Finally, the
platform has been evaluated and compared with other platforms currently available.
