Resumen
This research was developed in the course of Specialization in Educational
Management, of Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), as a partial
requirement for completion of this one. It aims to understand, as the management of
teaching reading in the first years of elementary school. Thus, as a problem of
research we are: How is the management of teaching reading in the first years of
elementary school? It was defined as general objective: To understand how the case
management of teaching reading in the first years of elementary school. And the
following objectives: to know the educational and pedagogical approach of teachers
in relation to reading and understanding the theoretical-methodological practices that
support reading in the school studied. To meet the proposed objectives, we
performed a qualitative research approach in a socio-cultural public school in the city
Santa Maria - RS. The study worked with semi-structured interviews and
documentary analysis of the political project - teaching. The theoretical research that
guided the authors were as follows: Ferreiro (1990, 2000, 2005), Ferreira (2001),
Freire (1989), Lück (2006, 2008), Silva (1988, 1995), Vasconcellos (2007) e Veiga
(2006a, 2006b). Thus, from the survey understand the importance of democratic and
participatory management in school, how their achievement can qualify practices. At
school there are important projects investigated on reading, but they take place
without the support of all participants in the educational process. If they had the
support of everyone at school would be more significant in students' education. The
school is a reality of great socio-economic deprivation, one of the priority areas that
students have access to reading, which makes this work even more important in the
life of these subjects. When everyone involved in the educational aims the same
goals the work becomes more significant in the formation of the student.
