Modelagem de lote econômico de compras para uma distribuidora de alimentos

Abstract

With the purpose of improving and controlling the production processes, companies seek to introduce increasingly optimized techniques of product purchase and inventory control, in order to reduce costs and increase competitiveness. In this way, the calculation of an Economic Order Quantify (EOQ) is an important tool in supporting the purchasing, inventory and production sector. However, the adoption of the EOQ as a tool to aid the purchase of products and raw material must be evaluated according to the company's reality, and may suffer changes in the calculation and in the way it is executed. In view of this, this study intends, using demand forecasting methods, to model an Economic Order Quantify for the main products offered by a food distributor located in the industrial region of the city of Santa Maria, Podal Distribuidora. Divided into five stages, the study develops the ABC curve and target products, demand analysis, demand forecasting, purchase information for target products and, finally, the modeling of the Economic Order Quantify. As a result, the work presented an Economic Order Quantify model for the coming year, based on the demand forecast of two of the main products, however the model presents uncertainties associated to the estimation of cost variables.
