The use of alternative power generation solutions is necessary to unleash the generation system considering the high consumption related to different situations, such as residential and public buildings. The objective of this work was to verify the economic feasibility of installing a solar heating system for bath water in a dressing room, of a public facility located in the southern region of Brazil, in comparison to the use of conventional electric showers. The sizing method used was f-Chart. The sizing for 200 daily baths resulted in 115 solar collectors of the closed-plan type, with a collecting area of 230 m², and two 3m³ reservoirs, each with an electric resistance of 2kW, providing an annual solar fraction of 114%. use auxiliary power supply to complement the 25%. Cost comparisons resulted in a payback time of 8.23 years, and a discounted payback of 10.96 years. The net present value and the internal rate of return indicated the feasibility of implementing the system, considering the useful life of the system for 20 years. In view of these results, it is concluded that it is feasible to implement the system, considering that the institution is permanent and will have its investment in the seventh year.
