This paper presents a study about the relationship that Facebook establishes with journalism, it's main objective being to identify how the social network understands and how it relates with this field in the institutional speeches. Through a theoretical construction are taken up some of the main journalistic values and their ethos, besides to resorting to studies that deal with journalism and social networks, especially Facebook. After the institutional texts of Facebook Newsroom were analized, during the period from January 2017 to September 2018, with the purpose of finding publications that deal about journalism. In this way, we are looking for terms that institutional texts use to refer to journalism, as well as journalistic values contained in publications. This process was inspired by content analysis. In view of this, we have found 28 ways that the company employs to refer to journalism, in addition to the journalistic values: public interest, veracity, credibility and reliability in selected Newsroom texts. Thus, it is concluded that Facebook takes a position of indecision regarding journalism, because at the same time that it approaches the field, it does not want to assume its responsibilities, since, it puts the public interest ahead of the journalistic values.
