Resumen
The Project or Atelier classes are the moments of critical analysis of the students' projects in the Architecture and Urbanism Courses. The act of guiding projects, when students seek information to qualify and develop their creations, takes place in the classroom and in large groups. In this context, this research, developed in the Master's Program in Professional and Technological Education at the Federal University of Santa Maria (PPGEPT-UFSM), proposed the use of a virtual teaching environment, allowing the individualization of a space where the students, along with the mentor teacher, become the agents of their own learning, building their knowledge in a solid and coherent way. This environment did not replace the face-to-face meetings, responsible for the socialization of individuals, but operated as a complement to these moments, increasing the spaces and times available for the orientation act, making the communication between the mentor teacher and the mentees more fluid. To make this virtual environment feasible, it used a remote access Information and Communication Technology (ICT), already available in the market, to support the teaching process. TeamViewer® is a free, non-commercial, cross-platform software that allows users to remotely access their computers, stream presentations, hold online meetings, share their computer screens, and collaborate and exchange experiences. This work was developed in a Private Educational Institution, in the city of Santa Maria, RS, and involved 23 students, enrolled in the discipline of Course Completion Work I and II, and mentored by the research author.
