A educação ambiental e seus reflexos na qualidade de vida dos indivíduos que compõem o sistema penitenciário Cruz Alta, RS

Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between environmental education and the prison system and whether this environment interferes with the quality of life of the individuals who are part of the Cruz Alta State Prison. The prison system at the national level faces many difficulties in fulfilling its mission of re-socializing the persons deprived of their liberty, and all these difficulties are reflected in the soul of the Brazil prisons, where the overcrowding, the disrespect to basic rights of the prisoners can not be guaranteed even if assured by the Law. Faced with the current situation in prisons, we can see the fundamental role of Environmental Education, where the environmental education professional can be inserted as a tool to recover the guarantee of basic rights for prisoners, providing practical solutions to daily problems that directly affect the quality of life of all individuals who are part of the prison system, guaranteeing to all professionals working in the prisons a better working environment so that they can perform better and with more motivation their activities, and to the grieving that their basic rights being respected can then cultivate good habits, provide better conditions to carry out some type of sustainable work, and may even transform behaviors that will be repeated when the latter fulfills his sentence and returns to society. For the collection of data, semi structured questionnaires were applied to prisoners, prison agents, military police officers and the health and education agents that make up the Cruz Alta State Prison. It is possible with the accomplishment of the work, identifying in the daily of the individuals actions that can influence positively in the quality of life of all, including fomenting the work in team, discussions in groups of studies, challenges to behavioral changes and even a folder that the main objectives and results of the research.
