Resumen
The present academic paper presents the process used to carry out the critical edition of the oeuvre Sonatina composed by Marcelo de Camargo Fernandes and awarded in 1978 on the 2nd National Guitar Composition Competition within XX International Guitar Seminar at Porto Alegre - Brasil. The oeuvre had a single edition published in 1979 by the publisher Max Eschig which was confronted with two autograph manuscripts that according to the composer were dated 1978. The critical review of this research took into account mainly the two manuscripts, because according to the author the publisher did not take into consideration its revised version delivered at the end of 1978, including disagreements with the 1978 manuscript, which was the only material used by Max Eschig in its publication. We also consider Marcelo Camargo Fernandes as a collaborator in this reserch as an relevant fact, allowing it to be possible to clarify several points that could generate doubt in the editorial process and in the recovery of his biography as a musician and composer. The method used to carry out this edition was the textual philological and proved to be fully viable when applied to music as a language, opening up new possibilities for future productions with the same core.
