dc.description.abstract | On the planet, there is an abundance of water in certain regions and scarcity in others. As a consequence, it is necessary to search for alternatives to obtain quality water, such as promoting the desalination of sea water or seeking the potability of contaminated fresh water. The present work sought to evaluate the production and water quality of a pyramidal active solar still, capable of distilling water coming from freshwater sources, with the help of a photovoltaic panel, in order to use it in emergency situations.Built with a glass coverage area of 0.25 m², based on recommendations previously known to maximize your productivity. 19 sampling were carried out, 11 for the water level in 3.5 cm inside the model, capable of producing an average of 1.58 L / m2 in 32.74% efficiency and 8 collections in 1.0 cm, capable of produce an average of 4.30 L / m² at 57.80% efficiency. 12 analysis of distilled water were carried out, all with the parameters according to the current national standard. The meteorological variables that influence the production of a solar still are solar radiation, ambient temperature, wind speed and relative humidity. These variables were monitored to assess the potential of production efficiency for local characteristics. The active solar still, analyzed in the present work, showed good efficiency, simple understanding, operation and maintenance. | |
