Resumen
The recent advances in the area of virtualization have motivated the creation of virtual
appliances, which are sets of software formed by a virtual machine with a minimum
operating system, associated with specific applications. The use of virtual appliances has
several advantages, eliminating cost and complexity of installation, testing, configuration
and maintenance of applications. This work focuses on the process of configuring multiple
virtual appliances targeted to VirtualBox virtualization technologies. Such process
usually requires repetitive tasks, so our approach was to analyze configuration steps and
look for tasks that could be carried out automatically. During this work, we developed a
configuration tool named VirtAK, aimed to facilitate the network configuration process
for multiple virtual appliances.
