The present work will delimit itself, in the analysis of the application of the Sustainable Education Objectives brought by Agenda 2030, in relation to the role to be developed by the Universities, where specifically, the actions in force at the Federal University of Santa Maria - UFSM will be addressed. By promoting real Education through the instrument called "Agenda 2030", issued by the United Nations in partnership with UNESCO, it is noted that by embracing the terminology of "sustainability" it addresses the vertex for social progress and development, according to the benefits it brings, reflected in a more environmentally correct education. Nowadays, it is denoted that both students, teachers and school managers must be attentive, and able to provide an effective use in the public education system, proposing activities that involve such sustainability rules, bringing with them a reflective ideal on social and citizenship. Undoubtedly, the 2030 Agenda, symbolizes a promising method that involves a faithful partnership between government entities, as well as private partnerships, and so mainly by society itself to the futuristic bias. By methodological sign, this research project will be based, through a qualitative analysis under exploratory-descriptive criteria in bibliographic genre about the theme of Sustainability and its definitions, as well as the role of the SDGs in relation to a Sustainable Education and the role of universities, thus specifying those listed at the Federal University of Santa Maria, throughout the contemporary decade.
