The present paper is a discussion on the process of teacher education and how it operates through its pedagogical practice in the context of school management. Therefore, it aims at understanding teachers’ scope on the teaching done by identifying the educational practices managed by them and its impact on teaching and learning process. We opted for a field research of a qualitative sort with the use of questionnaires with four State, Municipal and Federal teachers in Santa Maria - RS. These questionnaires were proposed in order to understand these four teachers according to their process of teacher education as a manager, as this has been working and carrying forward the changes present in the context of school management. We realized that the teacher seeks to change its profile, according to the globalized and knowledge needs, finding administrative and individual barriers to the achievement, however, it seeks to be constantly involved and committed to the democratic school management.
