Drew on the technical roots required for the execution of the traditional flute repertoire (sound, articulation and digital technique and style), which are found in the historical methods for this instrument, a series of exercises with different levels of execution were developed, based on the transposition of important excerpts from the flute repertoire of the first half of the 20th century. The work is constructed by solo passages, flute and piano pieces and concerts, contemplating requirements of any music school. The research makes a documental and bibliographical analysis of flute methods and studies related to the education of musical performance in Brazil. The text addresses the historical transformation that has occurred with the flute methods and its relation with the instrument study. Authors and professors such as Paul Taffanel, Marcel Moyse, Trevor Wye and Peter Lukas Graf influenced this work. The objective is optimizing the study time of the performer and contributing with educational material for flute teachers. It is also expected that the work stimulates flute teachers to produce their own exercises and methods.
