Resumen
This work analyzes Zero Hora's journalistic coverage of the environmental disaster that occurred in Mariana (MG) on November 5, 2015. The disaster was caused by the rupture of the Fundão dam, owned by Vale and BHP Billiton, which released about 55 million cubic meters of mining tailings. In this sense, our corpus consist in a month of the coverage, which comprises 27 news and reports, analyzed from November 6 to December 5. To base the research, we use the concepts of Framework, based on Entman (1993), Porto (2002) and Correia (2009); And Jornalistic Event from Charaudeau (2006), Rodrigues (1993) and Alsina (2009). The methodology consists in the Indirect Analysis of the Framework, proposed by Vimieiro and Maia (2011), in addition to the Protocol of Analysis of Journalistic Coverage by Silva and Maia (2010). In the end, we concluded that the coverage of Zero Hora had two phases: one covering the disaster at a distance and another a series of special reports, the Rota da Lama. The main frameworks of the newspaper in the two phases were focused on the consequences of the disaster, the trajectory of the mining tailings by Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo as well as the solutions taken by the government to minimize damages caused by the disaster, among others.
