Resumen
The present term paper is intended to discuss LGBTQI+ public representation on “Amor & Sexo”, wich is one of the most popular TV shows in Brazil’s open television network. By studying Audiovisual Shows and Social Minorities, emphasizing on Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual, Transsexual and Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI+), we must comprehend the communicational processes for this cultural production, once cultural analysis is a methodological research from Cultural Studies, presented as a media production. Hence the need to comprehend media productions, this paper will be supported, on the theoric methodological aspect, by the conceptual assumptions of Williams Raymond (2003), to establish the connexion between the lived culture and the registered culture, the analythical courses of Richard Johnson (2006) and the media analysis by Casetti and Chio (1999), therefore we will comprehend how these representations are fabricated. Some representations in audiovisual shows seek to add to the deconstruction of the heteronormativity imposed by the mass media, in which the show “Amor e Sexo” stands out precisely for ruling the LGBTQI+ minorities concerns, reproducing a great repercussion. However, these representaions and the fulfillment of their social role can be thinked over.
