Resumen
This specialization monograph aims to identify research trends on teaching
performance in Physical Education published in the national PAC. To achieve the
proposed objective, we elaborated the following research problem: "What are the
research trends on teaching performance in school Physical Education produced and
published in national PACs in the last 5 years?". This research is a Specialized
Literature Review Study (ERLE), based on academic-scientific production published in
Capes' national / Brazilian academic-scientific journals (PAC). This literature review
study did not reach all academic-scientific publications on teaching performance in
Physical Education, since we investigated a small part of the existing universe on the
subject. The panorama made with this study of literature review showed a greater
volume of publications on the analysis of teaching practice in general. The teaching of
sports and discussions about sports in Physical Education also occupied a lot of space
in this reasoning. Articles on evaluative practices, use of teaching resources, the
relationship between school management and the performance of the Physical
Education teacher, teaching knowledge, didactic-pedagogical planning and theoretical
assumptions that serve as a basis for his performance in school Physical Education
had, in turn, less prominence. Our study also identified that most of the studies on the
teaching performance in Physical Education are focused on Elementary Education.
There is a small number of articles that investigated the role of the Physical Education
teacher in high school. Thus, we consider relevant new research on the constituent
elements of the teaching performance in Physical Education in High School, since they
can contribute to the consolidation of the importance of Physical Education also in High
School. So, we believe that it is necessary to expand studies and publications on
evaluative practices, use of didactic resources, school management, teaching
knowledge, planning and theoretical assumptions that serve as the basis for the
performance of the Physical Education teacher, also in High School. The expansion of
this study can be done, for example, using as sources for collecting information theses
and dissertations carried out on this subject. We understand that, although we have
found a significant number of articles that seek to discuss what the Physical Education
teacher does or does in school in his teaching activity, there are themes that should be better explored and studied.
