dc.description.abstract | Activated charcoal and sodium silicate are products that can be obtained from rice husk. In view of a growing demand for reducing emissions, as well as more responsible products for use on environmental causes, the use of this raw material from agribusiness is a promising possibility to produce products with an ecologically applied way of thinking in various sectors, making the company's market receptive to the production. In order to make this a reality, a market analysis, selection and economic feasibility dimension of the project was developed. Through market analysis, it was decided to install the company in the city of Pelotas, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, due to the proximity of possible suppliers and consumers. From the production route, it was decided to use an agro-industrial residue from the rice harvest, the husk of the grain specifically. Based on the decision criteria, it can be stated that the project is economically viable for an annual production of 15,803.72 tons of sodium silicate and 10,382.82 tons of activated charcoal, operating for 300 days a year, with yearly pauses for scheduled maintenance. First, the condition of IRR > TMA is satisfied, since an IRR of 32% p.a. was obtained versus a TMA of 9.25% p.a. So, there is an NPV of R$ 17,725,655.86. As it is positive, the project's viability is proven. Furthermore, it is estimated that the payback time will occur between year 3 and year 4 of the company's operation, that is, from this period onwards, the invested capital is recovered. | |
