dc.description.abstractThis study was developed in the course of Specialization in Educational Management offered by the Federal University of Santa Maria, in the form of distance education in Sapiranga pole, during the period 2014 to 2015. The research proposal consisted of analysis and listening the school management practices developed in the context of a public school in the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre - RS, which went through a process of trial of school closure. The union of all segments of the school community, combined with various actions such as marches and demonstrations were significant in this uphill battle faced by this school. The consequences of this action almost school closure has brought many damages to the school community. After a new election and a school restructuring, the joints that have taken place, working together for the policy community and school staff were instrumental in the school's reorganization. The articulation of such data with the theoretical reflection on the manager's performance of the repercussions of such processes aim to provide subsidies for the improvement of the developed achievements and for planning measures in the initial and continuing training of teachers / as about process management democratic within public schools.
