Resumen
This article seeks to analyze the scientific productions related to the health of indigenous peoples from the advances and setbacks in the implementation of the National Policy for Attention to Indigenous Peoples. The study was carried out through an integrative literature review. For that, the search descriptors were defined in the BIREME portal and, later, the surveys of the articles that discuss the theme were carried out. The analysis and interpretation of the data were carried out in an organized and synthesized way through the elaboration of a summary table. The work is organized in two moments. First, it discusses how the agenda of concern for indigenous health in the country was developed until the emergence of the PNASPI, in 2002. In a second moment, the National Policy for Health Care for Indigenous Peoples and the current scenario development of health policies for these peoples. As seen, despite advances in legislation, there is still no promotion of the integral health of indigenous peoples with respect to the physical and cultural aspects of these communities.
