A educação física nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental no município de São Borja - RS

This work is the result of a survey conducted in San Borja / RS involving
physical education in the early years of elementary school, and aimed to analyze the
reality of physical education discipline in this school stage, in the municipality, from
the following aspects: a) number of classes offered from 1st to 5th year, b) the profile
of teachers; c) the integration of EF with the pedagogical proposal of the school
(PPE); d) the activities and EF content wrought; e) the locations where classes are
developed. 34 teachers from seven public schools were interviewed. The data show
that most schools offer two hours per week of physical education, 61.76% of the
teachers are teachers, 85% of respondents indicate integration between the PPE and
physical education; fun and games are the activities most developed in the classroom
or on the patio. The importance of physical education in human development, it
would be necessary to expand the hours of classes in the early years and make
compulsory the presence of a teacher qualified in this discipline.
