The theme of this master's dissertation is the creation of a jewelry collection based on the mapping of some catholic churches from the region of Quarta Colônia. The architecture and the religious iconography of the churches served as references for the creation of the new collection, witch intends to discuss identity and Design questions in light of the Geopark Quarta Colônia Aspirante UNESCO proposal and the production e creativeness techniques of the Jewelry Design. The leading motivation for the choice of this theme, witch aim to relate Jewelry Design and with the most important Mother Churches in Quarta Colônia, idealized by Italian immigrants, it’s given for the author’s will to understand, preserve and disseminate her own roots through her profession. Descendant from Italian immigrants, the author sought to represent all the importance that Catholicism had and still have in the life of people who live in the region of Quarta Colônia. The catholic church is the epicenter of all cities formed by the Italian colonization of the region, being the main building of every city. The research was thought as a way to understand the structure of these temples, as well as the history and the iconography aspects that surrounds the patron saints to witch these buildings were dedicated so the resultant jewelry collection would be able to transmit and represent the symbols and the meanings of these Mother Churches. At the end, the jewelry collection found these representations in some architectural elements, although they were more evident in the paintings of Ângelo Lazzarini, the artist who were responsible for most of the paintings present in these temples.
