Resumen
This study aims to identify the relationship between the human body movement when
marching as well as when a person is horse riding during slow march. Two subjects
aged 22 and 25 were selected, both having been previously diagnosed as having no
posture faults as well as no experience on horse riding at all. They have had their
movements of pelvic, antero-porterior and lateral inclination tridimensionally analised
through kinematics with the Peak Motus system. The marching data obtained was
submitted to comparision with the data found in literature. The results from the
angular movements during horse riding have been compared to the previously
obtained marching data from the same individuals. Finally, it is possible to conclude
that the movements of pelvic inclination for subjects 1 and 2 are shown to be similar
when marching and riding a marching horse. When riding, both subjects have shown
higher pelvic antroversion. Considering body inclination on the sagital plan in person
1, only little similarities were identifyed on movement curvature in person number 1,
as this person keeps the body in a higher vertical position when riding than person
number 2. This shows the exigency of mechanisms of body correction and
equilibrium control on the sitting position. The angular variations and movement
curvature on person number 2 presented to be very similar, showing in both cases a
double sinusoidal curve. During the analysis of the lateral body inclination for both
subjects 1 and 2, little similarities have been found. It is also possible to learn that,
when riding a horse, both subjects presented a higher angular variation of body
lateral inclination as well as they presented curvatures similar to those referered on literature about marching.
