dc.description.abstractSeveral problems require a large amount of computing power in order to be solved. Using grid computing, separate entities can cooperate to solve these problems. To help that cooperation there are middlewares that manage computational grids. However, a computational grid is inherently dynamic, as its nodes change continuously, and heterogeneous, composed by nodes with different abilities. In this context, a dynamic job management system for heterogeneous computational grids is being developed at LSC, allowing a rescheduling of the jobs during their execution, as needed according to factors such as the current load of the machines, and the joining and leaving of nodes in the grid, therefore keeping the workload well spread across the grid, avoiding overloading some nodes while others are idle. This work proposes the creation of a base communication layer to be used in the implementation of such a computational grid management system.
