A política nacional de resíduos sólidos e a situação do município de Alegrete - RS

Abstract

The industrial and technological development marked the course of an intention-ously consumerist society, characterized by the overuse of natural resources and the unlimited disposal of solid waste. The search for a solution to the social and environmental problems caused by the accumulation, fate and lack of proper treatment of solid waste has aroused discussions, demonstrations and intense search for alternatives aimed at sustainable environmental balance. Thus, the present study aims to make an analysis of the fate of Solid Waste in the city of Alegrete, RS, in the light of Law Nº. 12.305 / 10 establishing the National Solid Waste Policy and other measures in order to verify that called the landfill of the municipality is in accordance with that law. Therefore, has weld of visits to the municipal landfill and the bodies responsible for management of solid waste, with a photographic record of monitoring. It was found that the municipality maintains a dump in the open, titled differently, however, totally irregular and challenge-cordon with Law 12.305 / 2010, which undermines not only the alegretense population, but also the environment as a whole .
