Resumen
The number of people aged 60 or over is increasingly larger with time. The greater longevity of the population also creates major challenges, such as the need for measures that guarantee autonomy, well-being, participation, independence and interaction for the elderly. By searching the experience on living in a community, the elderly is the public that most seeks alternative housing styles, such as Cohousing - which consists of a sustainable community created and run by its own residents, where each one lives in privacy in their homes and socialize with their neighbors in a collective environment. The chosen subject is justified by the role that architecture plays in the reordering of society and how it influences the well-being of its users, as well as offering an alternative collective housing as the key to sustainability. Therefore, the present paper tries to propose a space destined to the implantation of a Cohousing directed to the public of the third age, since the aging of the population is a reality, as well as the demands that arise in its function. This paper aims to create a draft of a housing focused in a group of independent, middle-aged elderly people. As a methodology, theoretical-conceptual research was carried out; survey and analysis of the land; development and application of a questionnaire to the target public, in order to assess the demands and needs of the residents; and, finally, the methodology of architectural design.
