dc.description.abstract | The use of physical models and tridimensional digital models in the architecture design process is present at many moments in the Architecture and Urbanism program from UFRN. Even though the introduction of Sketchup software makes students use more and more tridimensional digital models as a representation tool, it is important to highlight that these models can also be a valuable tool for architects in the early stages of the design process. Numerous new technologies can be used in the development of these conceptual models, among them: 3D printers, 3D modelings software, parametric modeling software, augmented reality and virtual reality. Given this extensive universe of technological possibilities, other than physical models, that can now assist the use of conceptual models in the process of architecture design, a question becomes pertinent: how does the use of new technologies affect the development of conceptual models in an Architecture and Urbanism undergraduate environment? Therefore, this work aims to demonstrate how parametric design methods can help the development of architecture conceptual models in the context of a curricular component of the Architecture and Urbanism program from UFRN. To this end, some specific objectives were defined, of which stands out: to develop and apply a conceptual architecture design methodology using a parametric modeling software to make conceptual models. Thus, it seeks to deepen the knowledge about architecture design process, and the study and conception of form in the Architecture and Urbanism program from UFRN, using an approach that aims for the form (Shape Finding) and a generative design process. | |
