dc.description.abstractThe oral health policy has faced over the years the challenge of making its programs and services more accessible to the population. The inclusion of oral health in the Family Health Strategy has enabled a breakthrough in dental practice, mainly because it provides the possibility to change the model and exclusive to a technicist model that values teamwork, epidemiology and interdisciplinarity. Oral health in Family Health Strategy aims to increase access to programs and services and improve oral health epidemiological indices and quality of life. Given that the objective of this study was to review the literature in order to identify whether the oral health teams in the Family Health Strategy to improve access to dental services. The review was conducted in BIREME bases BBO, MEDLINE, LILACS and SciELO, for articles published without date limits and in Portuguese. The results demonstrate that oral health teams improve access to oral health services, but that actually occur in improved access and affordability of these services need a change in oral health care model, the profile of the professional and political will managers.
