This reflection is part of a research carried out with twenty-one teachers from the area of voice and more than one hundred Brazilian
and Portuguese students about the purpose of warming up in the theatrical practice. Here, the synthesis of the vocal warm-up scripts will be demonstrated based on conceptions of these persons and on publications on the theme. From the scripts analyzed, it was concluded that vocal warming-uphas a general andspecific anatomical-physiological character, as well as involves the subjectivity of the person that warms-up, favoring the technical, expressive and creative aspects of the student and the scenic artist.
