Resumen
Since the colonial period, Brazil has carried strong traits of religious manifestation in the public sphere, and religions of African origin have gained prominence throughout history due to the repression and discrimination that were and still are directed at them. Thus, in the search for equality of expression of creeds through the generation of quality public policies, an understanding of the normative scenario becomes essential. Thus, the present dissertation aims to analyze the Brazilian federal normative behavior when the subject is religion, with an emphasis on the manifestations of Afro-Brazilian religions. Based on that, it seeks to demonstrate how the importance of a normative elaboration based on the increase of rationality and representativeness are necessary to offer more effectiveness to the legislation.
