Resumen
El Síndrome de Burnout es un tipo de estrés laboral presente en la mayoría de los trabajadores de la salud, el cual constituye una problemática de interés de salud pública. La presente investigación fue realizada en institución de cuarto nivel de la ciudad de Cartagena con el objetivo de determinar la prevalencia y factores de riesgos asociados al Síndrome del Burnout y Analizar la relación que existe entre estos factores de riesgo, y las dimensiones del Síndrome del Burnout en médicos de institución de IV nivel de complejidad de en la ciudad de Cartagena, en el período enero a marzo de 2018. Metodología: Es un estudio descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal, La muestra fue conformada por 114 médicos generales y especialistas con edades que comprendidas entre 20 y 67 años. Se aplicó el Maslach Burnout Inventory, (MBI) Inventario de Maslach con una consistencia interna de 0,76 y un cuestionario con variables especificas sociodemográficas y laborales, a quienes se les determino la prevalencia de síndrome de Burnout, los factores de riesgo y la relación entre las dimensiones del síndrome. Resultados: Se incluyeron en el estudio 114 médicos de los cuales, generales 52 casos, representados en el (45.6%), especialistas 46 (40.4%), internos 16 (14%) la prevalencia del síndrome de Burnout fue de 9.6%. Una relación estadística significativa entre la subes cala despersonalización y las variables como edad, nivel de escolaridad, estado civil y número de hijos. Se halló relación de evidencia estadísticamente significativa entre las personas que si padecen el síndrome de Burnout y están divorciados es mayor a los otros estados civiles. Conclusión: Al realizar este estudio se encontró que los factores extra laborales potencializan la posibilidad de que se materialicen los factores de riesgos para dicha enfermedad, además de que existe una alta prevalencia en factores de riesgos externos también existen factores intrínsecos que son determinantes en la aparición de la patología, es decir que no solo está necesariamente relacionado con el entorno laboral si no también con factores inherentes al individuo.
