Resumen
This article is part of a research project from the program “Especialización en Pedagogía para la Educación Superior”, which it is proposed to analyze the implementation of the curriculum guidelines that allows the formation and implementation of citizenship skills in a nursing program. By mean of a documentary tracing, the Competences theoretical constructs and the educational implications were reviewed. In conclusion, it is considered the civic education the way how the human face will return to higher education. Therefore The higher education from a reflexive and critical position must ensure the training of competent professionals as active citizens who recognize the other and make use of dialogue to create agreements that integrate knowledge and willingness to transform the society.
