Abstract

The present study aimed to stablish the contribution of the quality management system NTC-ISO 9001:2015 to the high-quality institutional accreditation process at Universidad Santo Tomás Villavicencio headquarters. A qualitative research with a case study approach was applied and the interpretive paradigm was used as model. The sample was selected using a non-probability sampling due to the accessibility as the main selection criteria. In this manner, it is possible to mention that the documentary analysis, the interviews to the process leaders as well as the consultation with the experts were used as data recollection techniques to achieve the specific objectives proposed. It can be said that the Quality Assurance standard NTC-ISO 9001:2015 contributes to the sustainability of the Instructional Accreditation process since it provides evidence in the academic, administrative and financial processes. It also allows the institution to grow in communicative scenarios with the solid purpose to know the needs and expectations of the stakeholders and allow them to keep an open dialogue about their procedures.
